Digital Media and Software IncentiveThis program is to help innovative digital media and software development companies gain a competitive edge. It provides a 25% tax credit on qualified payroll for in-state labor and 18% for qualified production expenditures. Enterprise ZonesThis program is a jobs incentive program that provides state income and franchise tax credits to existing and new businesses hiring residents from enterprise zones as defined in these areas. Opportunity ZonesThis incentive defers or lowers federal taxes on capital gains for a qualified 'opportunity zone' investment in these census tracts on or around the District's boundaries. The census tracts shown are exclusive of others in the Parish. Opportunity Zone Census Tract 31.02 does not include airport area. Federal Historic Rehabilitation Tax CreditThis program provides a 20% federal income tax credit and is available for the rehabilitation of historic, income-producing buildings that are ‘certified historic structures’ as defined by the National Park Service. This program is administered by the Division of Historic Preservation. New Market Tax CreditThis program provides federal tax incentives to investors to make investments in distressed communities which promotes economic development through fostering successful business in these communities. Restoration Tax Abatement ProgramThis program provides a 100% property tax abatement for up to 10 years on renovations and improvements of existing commercial structures and owner-occupied residences. Tax Increment Financing (TIF)Tax Increment Financing is a project specific program wherein the new or incremental taxes are set aside to help finance a project or public improvements. The City/Parish administration should be consulted prior to use of a TIF.
